The Premier League intends to look into Chelsea’s transfers of Willian and Samuel Eto’o.

The two transactions happened while Roman Abramovic, a Russian billionaire, was the Blues’ previous owner.

The Times claims that the Premier League is investigating both transfers after the club’s current owners raised concerns about them.

The publication asserts that further payments to unidentified Russian businesses were made during Eto’o and Willian’s 2013 transfers from Anzi Makhachkala, even though these entities were not involved in the transactions.

Although it’s unclear where things stand right now, it was reported two months ago that Chelsea could lose points if they are deemed to have defaulted.

Even though Chelsea reported the incident on their own, the Blues were previously penalized for breaking the rules when they recruited Andreas Christensen from the Danish club Brondby back in 2012.
