They started like this last season and nothing came out of it, toping the League all the Season and still lost it to us’: Manchester city boss, Pep Guardiola gives honest verdict of who will win the premier league this season again – Arsenal is not even an Option
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, talked about Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of winning the title after a great start to the season.
Spurs’ play has improved a lot since Ange Postecoglou took over as manager. Of their 10 Premier League games so far, the North London club has won eight and tied two. This puts them at the top of the table.
Spurs and Arsenal are the only teams that haven’t lost a game so far this season. Spurs are currently two points ahead of Arsenal.
Spurs are a different team this season thanks to new players like James Maddison and Micky van de Ven. But they still have a long way to go, and Postecoglou knows that his team has a big job ahead of them.
“Let them dream,” Postecoglou told Sky Sports on Friday after Tottenham beat Crystal Palace. “That’s what it means to be a football fan.”
Postecoglou wouldn’t talk about Spurs’ title hopes, but Guardiola made it clear how he sees their chances.
The manager of Manchester City believes that Tottenham may have an edge this season because they are not playing in Europe.
“Look at how well Tottenham is playing. They only play once a week, so they’ll be in good shape all season.” The manager said, “Tottenham will be there.”
He also says that Arsenal is a “really good team” and that they will be in the running for the title again this year.
“First, they’re a good team. Second, they sometimes mark you with a man, which lets you do some stuff, but then they’re so aggressive,” Guardiola said.
“They have a great plan and a great team.”
Guardiola will, of course, want his team to win the title over both Tottenham and Arsenal. Manchester City wants to win the Premier League for the fourth year in a row. If they can do it, they will be the first team in history to do it.
City will play Manchester United later today in a big game, so it will be interesting to see how that goes. Spurs will only be two points behind Guardiola’s team if they win.
