One of the richest people in the world is buying Tottenham.

Sheikh Jassim is expected to join another of the Premier League’s major six clubs when Man United’s takeover falls through.

Sheikh Jassim may have backed out of a bid to buy Manchester United, but the Qataris could be eyeing another Premier League club next.

See here for more information on why Sheikh Jassim appears to have withdrawn his buyout attempt for Manchester United, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe now set to try to invest in a 25% interest in the club.

Meanwhile, according to ESPN journalist Mark Ogden, Tottenham Hotspur could be Qatar’s next target.

Ogden was told early this year that Spurs could be the second choice for Sheikh Jassim if a deal to United didn’t work out, which has now been more or less confirmed.

“PSG was a great move [for the club’s Qatari owners], because it’s Paris,” he remarked.

“It’s a fantastic city, but I think they’ve discovered over the years that Ligue 1 is simply not big enough.” They want to be associated with the Premier League.

“Somebody told me recently, they said that if the Qataris don’t buy Manchester United, they’ll be back and they might end up buying Tottenham.”
