David de Gea is set to return to football after signing for one of the biggest clubs in the world this morning
After leaving Man United in the summer, David de Gea is almost ready to play football again.
Two teams in Spain are thinking about making moves for David de Gea, the goalkeeper who used to play for Manchester United.
During the summer, several clubs tried to sign the 32-year-old Spanish star. Teams from the Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer were very interested in him.
But De Gea turned them down because he wanted to go back to Spain. An offer from his home country could be on the way, as Real Betis and Valencia are interested in the free agent.
The veteran goalie hasn’t had a job since Manchester United let him go in June. He has been working out on his own to stay in shape.
De Gea played at Old Trafford for 12 years, but his play has been getting worse over the last two seasons. This led Erik ten Hag to go out and get Andre Onana from Inter Milan.
Real Betis would be the better choice for De Gea because Seville’s club is in a bit of a crisis because Rui Silva is hurt and Claudio Bravo, who is 40, just got back from a long break. This means that the former Manchester United star could be much more reliable.
At Valencia, the 32-year-old would face tough competition from the young Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili and is not assured to start every week.
