Rodri has gone crazy! A Man City player will miss a big game against Arsenal because he was sent off against Nottingham Forest for grabbing Morgan Gibbs-White by the throat.
Rodri, a defender for Manchester City, was sent off for grabbing Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White by the neck. He will not be able to play against Arsenal because of this.
WHAT TOOK PLACE? The City player, who Pep Guardiola said last week was the best midfielder in Europe, lost his temper with his opponent, pushing him and then grabbing his neck, which caused Gibbs-White to fall down. The VAR looked at the decision to fire Rodri, but it was confirmed.
Rodri will not be able to play for Premier League leaders City in their next three games: Wednesday’s Carabao Cup match at Newcastle, next Saturday’s trip to Wolves, and, most importantly, October 8’s match at Arsenal.
WHAT’S NEXT: City will decide next week whether or not to challenge Rodri’s red card and try to get his suspension cut. It seems unlikely that they will be successful, though. On September 30, they will play Wolves away in the Premier League.
