Star Manchester City player wants to Terminate his contract to Join La liga Giant despite signing a new contract this Summer
According to reports, Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is still interested in joining Barcelona in the summer of 2024.
This is according to Mundo Deportivo, and it comes as a surprise given that the Portuguese international recently signed a contract extension through 2026.
Bernardo Silva, on the other hand, appears to be pursuing his dream of becoming a Barcelona player by departing Manchester City at the end of the season.
Bernardo Silva is still desperate to join Barcelona despite rumors of a Manchester City release clause.
Kevin De Bruyne described him as “so smart,” and the 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Blaugrana for the past two summer transfer windows.
The Spanish giants’ financial difficulties appear to prevent them from making a move for the dynamic attacker, who keeps his head down and continues to make history at the Etihad Stadium.
Bernardo Silva, on the other hand, was adamant about include a £50 million release clause in his new deal in order to make his ambition of joining Barcelona a reality next summer.
After the season, Xavi and co. will almost certainly want to sign the treble champion again.
If Bernardo leaves, Nunes may be considered as the backup plan.
It would not be surprising if Manchester City, one of the best-run clubs in the world, has been prepared for Barcelona target Bernardo Silva to depart next summer and, as a result, insisted on signing Matheus Nunes this season.
While Nunes may not be as comfortable on the wing as his countryman, he is similar in that he is a technically skilled midfielder in deeper areas, a capable ball-carrier, and incredibly hardworking.
And, under Pep Guardiola, the 25-year-old is just going to get better.
Perhaps City see Matheus Nunes as Bernardo Silva’s long-term replacement and are preparing him to succeed him for years to come.
