Although Manchester City are interested in Evan Ferguson, the player won’t be moving in January.

Tony Bloom, the owner and chairman of Brighton, has made that suggestion. Bloom is well aware of the incredible opportunity his club currently has.

In August 2021, not long after relocating from Bohemians, Ferguson made his debut at Brighton.

Despite being young, he has dazzled everyone with his incredible all-around performance.

He scored a hat-trick against Newcastle United before the international break, further raising his profile.

Recently, it was claimed that City was keeping an eye on Ferguson.

But they should likely forget about it if the club feels like swooping in January.

When it comes to selling players, Brighton has established itself as one of the top clubs.

Young talents are recruited for little to no money, developed, and then sold for exorbitant amounts.

They are superbly run, and Ferguson, whom Alan Shearer called “a very special talent,” might be their biggest sell to date. He is reportedly already worth around £120 million.

However, that is not going to happen during the upcoming transfer window since Bloom is sure the Seagulls will keep the adolescent for the entire 2023–2024 season.

According to him, I don’t like to conduct a lot of business in January (Irish Independent).

“I don’t think any of our key players will be traded in January. We simply avoid doing that. No one of our key players, though I’m not saying certain guys won’t be sold.

Evan Ferguson’s move in January was never likely, as City isn’t often that busy in the window.

Ferguson was never going to be signed by the team in the upcoming transfer window, but at least it appears that Brighton won’t be trying to sell him to anybody other than City.

The position taken by Bloom and Brighton is entirely comprehensible.

Ferguson is still only 18 years old, thus the more they cling onto him, the more his market value might increase dramatically.

Next summer, we’ll see if City wants to make a move. He’ll probably be very pricey, but maybe Txiki Begiristain and Pep Guardiola will discuss it.
