Mauricio Pochettino is SET to Terminate the Contract of €60 Million FLOP After failed Transfer Exit from the Club
Marc Cucurella, a Chelsea defender, is facing exile after his failed move to Manchester United.
According to the Evening Standard, Marc Cucurella and Trevoh Chalobah may face expulsion from Stamford Bridge.
According to the same source, the 25-year-old’s loan to United during the summer transfer window fell through, leaving him in an unfavorable situation at Chelsea.
Ben Chilwell has been Chelsea’s first-choice left-back since his arrival in 2020, and while he is not currently playing, Mauricio Pochettino has kept Cucurella on the bench.
Instead, the Argentine has started Levi Colwill at left-back, with Chilwell beginning ahead of him, demonstrating how far Cucurella is from his manager’s thoughts at the moment.
Marc Cucurella is unlikely to play for Chelsea this season.
It would not be surprising if Pochettino began to leave Cucurella out of the matchday squad, who cost Chelsea roughly £60 million.
As previously said, the former PSG and Tottenham Hotspur manager has Chilwell and Colwill who can both play at left-back, as well as Ian Maatsen.
Cucurella struggled at Chelsea the previous season and was never going to be an automatic starter this season.
“I wasn’t happy with Cucurella right throughout that second half until he came off,” Jamie Carragher stated on Sky Sports last season while reviewing one of the Spaniard’s performances.
Overall, a loan transfer to United or another club could have been beneficial for Cucurella, especially considering that he may not be played at all at Stamford Bridge.
A new atmosphere could have aided the former Brighton man in regaining his confidence.
