FA have finally announced a harsh ban for Virgil Van Dijk for misbehaving with the referee
Liverpool star gets a longer suspension after taking the FA’s case. According to the BBC, Virgil Van Dijk received a £100,000 fine and an extra one-match suspension for his outburst against Newcastle.
For a foul on Alexander Isak against Newcastle in the 28th minute, Van Dijk was sent. The Dutchman expressed his displeasure with the choice, responded aggressively, and was overheard calling Brooks’ judgment a “f*****g joke” during a protracted outburst against the official.
He also got into a heated argument with the fourth official as he was leaving the field. According to a video, he appeared to order the official, “F**k off, do not touch me.”
As a result of the FA’s decision to prosecute him with “improper conduct,” he will not play against Wolves on Saturday.
Without their captain at the center of the defense, Liverpool will have a difficult time on the road.
However, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip excelled in the Dutchman’s absence against Aston Villa, easily defeating them 3-0.
At the Molineux Stadium, Liverpool supporters will be hoping for the team to put on another flawless performance.
