Fernandez, who joined Chelsea from Benfica in 2022 for a then-British record transfer fee of £106.8 million, has been strongly linked with a summer move. Earlier this month, a report from L’Equipe claimed Paris Saint-Germain are long-term admirers of the midfielder and are ‘in contact’ with both the player and his representatives about a potential deal. Real Madrid have also shown an interest in previous transfer windows. As speculation continues to swirl around his future, Argentine publication TYC Sports claimed on Sunday night that Fernandez is ‘prepared for another leap in his career’ and ‘could leave in the next transfer window’. “Liam Rosenior considers him irreplaceable.
