Van Nistelrooy urges Man Utd to splash £70m on a playmaker he ‘adores’! 💥 As the summer transfer window heats up, legendary striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has thrown his weight behind Manchester United’s potential move for a £70 million-rated star. With Erik ten Hag also eyeing a key Fulham player, the excitement among fans is palpable. Will the Red Devils secure these game-changing signings? Stay tuned for more updates! 🔥
Manchester United are reportedly gearing up to make a firm bid for Xavi Simons next week, in what could be part of a stunning triple Dutch transfer raid spearheaded by new assistant manager Ruud van Nistelrooy. Additionally, Erik ten Hag is rumored to be eyeing a surprise acquisition of a defensive star from Fulham.
A busy summer transfer window at Old Trafford is set to kick off, with a deal for Joshua Zirkzee nearing completion. Manchester United are prepared to pay around £45 million for the Bologna striker, allocating £34 million to the Serie A club and the remainder as commission to the Dutch forward’s agent, Kia Joorabchian.
Zirkzee is expected to be the first of several new arrivals. Sources close to TEAMtalk indicate that minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who gained full sporting control through his £1.3 billion investment in the club earlier this year, is aiming for at least four, possibly six or seven, new signings this summer.
Ratcliffe’s strategy focuses on strengthening United’s core, targeting a centre-half, a midfielder, and a new striker. A new left-back and a right-sided winger are also desirable, although the urgency for the latter might have diminished after Jadon Sancho’s return to training and reconciliation with Ten Hag.
Following Zirkzee’s potential signing, United are reportedly negotiating deals for four top players, with a South American midfielder already agreeing to a move.
Among the targets is Matthijs de Ligt, with Bayern Munich willing to reduce his £244,000 weekly wage to facilitate a reunion with Ten Hag. Should de Ligt join, he would bolster United’s Dutch and Eredivisie connections, joining the likes of Lisandro Martínez, Andre Onana, Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount, Antony, and potentially Zirkzee.
Furthermore, news emerged on Friday that United are exploring a deal for PSG playmaker Simons, who has showcased his talent with a string of impressive performances at Euro 2024.
