Andre Onana’s shocking gesture after losing against Bayern Munich has stunned everyone
Man United fans were thrilled by Andre Onana’s post-match gesture. Manchester United began their Champions League campaign with a 4-3 loss to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.
After recent Premier League defeats to Arsenal and Brighton, Manchester United were expected to respond, but errors from custodian Andre Onana clinched a Bayern Munich victory.
Manchester United has added another player. Rasmus Hojlund had a strong performance after scoring his first goal for the club. Sergio Reguilon, on loan from Manchester United, was another standout player in a lacklustre collective effort.
“He’s got to get over it quickly, he can’t let it affect the rest of his performance,” Paul Scholes says of Andrè Onana’s gaffe.
Following the setback, Andre Onana accepted responsibility and told CBS that he would like to give an interview with them. Accepting his request, they decided to question Onana about his time at Manchester United and what went wrong.
“It’s difficult to lose this way,” Onana stated. We started the game well, but following my error, we lost control. It’s a challenging scenario for the squad and for me because I let the team down. The team was excellent, but we couldn’t win because of me. We just have to keep going; this is the life of a custodian.”
“I owe it to the fans to get better.” This is my worst performance.”
Fans were thrilled by Onana’s gesture, which demonstrated his willingness to face his critics and improve his skills. After a poor performance, few modern-day footballers would do this.
Onana’s post-match interview, according to Rio Ferdinand:
“I understand. I’ve lost games, committed blunders, and at times refused to speak to the media. That demonstrated good character and demonstrated that he is composed of the right stuff.”
