Manchester United Manager Erig Ten Hag has splashed £100 million on wordclass winger who has more goal contribution than Cole Palmer this Season
Dwight Yorke believes Manchester United should be willing to spend an extra £50 million to buy Michael Olise.
The Crystal Palace player is expected to join Bayern Munich in a £50.7 million move, defeating competition from Chelsea, Newcastle, and even Manchester United, despite their long-term interest in him that did not lead to a solid contract.
Yorke believes United should challenge Bayern’s attempt by doubling the offer, implying a significant nine-figure sum for the 22-year-old star, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Yorke, a member of United’s historic 1999 treble-winning side, told Crypto Sports Betting: “Man United should have signed Michael Olise earlier; you can see the youngster is a wonderful act and would thrive at the club. He seized his moment with Crystal Palace and excelled.”
The former United forward, who scored 65 goals in 152 appearances, believes the club could offer more than £100 million, given they previously spent £85 million on Antony, whose performance was deemed unsatisfactory during his two years at Old Trafford.
Yorke added: “Nowadays, that type of talent is certainly worth at least £50 million, but if Manchester United signs Antony for £85 million, they would most likely spend upwards of £100 million for Olise. Man United cannot complain about Palace’s valuation of Olise when they see how much money was spent on Antony.”
