This month’s international friendlies against Brazil and Belgium will be too soon for Mainoo to earn his first England cap. However, Southgate has revealed that he is clearly on his radar ahead of Euro 2024, which takes place this summer.
Southgate added, “He’s doing fantastically for a young guy. We’re never slow to promote a young player to the seniors, but he’s only played a few games.

Mainoo’s outstanding achievements at the outset of his United career have prompted comparisons to legendary midfielders.
In some parts of the Red Devils’ supporters, he has been dubbed the ‘Stockport Seedorf,’ and former players Rio Ferdinand and Wes Brown have both commented that he resembles the Dutch star.
But Ten Hag has dismissed the analogies, emphasising that Mainoo requires space to develop into his own player for club and country.
“So, I believe that players should never be compared to other players. Never. Because Kobbie Mainoo and other players establish their own identity,” Ten Hag stated.
