Mauricio Pochettino has explained why he’s been benching Mykhailo Mudryk lately.
Mudryk has barely started a match for Chelsea in the last two months, following a spate of dismal performances. Pochettino has now underlined that the Ukrainian team needs to improve in some aspects.
The Argentine stated at a press conference: “Because it is part of the evolution, the development.
“I believe that you should feel the pain when they don’t play, especially young guys, because it’s always so easy and difficult to grow, mature, and learn how to improve.”
“I think the most important thing is how you’re going to handle this scenario, and it’s always up to him to push or achieve the maximum we believe they have. It’s always a tremendous task for our coaching staff.”
With Christopher Nkunku back from injury and Cole Palmer in terrific form, Mudryk will have to work hard to impress Pochettino. He’s also trailing Noni Madueke, Raheem Sterling, and Nicolas Jackson, who can play out wide.
