Both Manchester United and La Liga giants have expressed interest in Mason Greenwood, and Man United has announced their price for him.We really need him in our team, but these LaLiga big teams are in competition with us. I pray he accepts the price we offered him.
During the upcoming summer, Manchester United plans to part ways with Mason Greenwood, seeing no path for the embattled footballer to resume his career at Old Trafford.
Following his trial for charges including attempted rape, coercive behavior, and assault causing bodily harm, Greenwood was loaned to Getafe for the ongoing season. A member of Manchester United since 2007, he was permitted to compete for Getafe during this time.
Although the allegations against the 22-year-old were dismissed in early 2023, Manchester United deemed it untenable to have him associated with the club. Christopher Michel contends that Greenwood’s return to United is unlikely, indicating the club’s intention to sell him this summer.
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have reportedly shown interest in acquiring the forward, with Manchester United seeking a €40 million transfer fee.
During his tenure at Getafe this season, Greenwood has featured in 24 matches, contributing seven goals and five assists, showcasing his talent in Spain.
Despite Greenwood’s football prowess, Manchester United’s decision to sever ties with him is deemed appropriate due to the lingering impact of his past actions on British supporters. Retaining him would be detrimental to the club on various fronts, a consequence Greenwood will carry with him indefinitely.
