Manchester United Ready to Unleash Carlos Baleba as £70M Midfield Statement Nears Official Confirmation

Manchester United are reportedly close to officially confirming the signing of Carlos Baleba from Brighton.
The 22-year-old midfielder has completed his medical and agreed to a five-year contract, with an option for an additional year. The transfer is reportedly worth up to £70 million, comprising £65 million in guaranteed payments and £5 million in add-ons, while Brighton will retain a sell-on percentage.
Only the official announcement remains, which could be made imminently.
Baleba would become United’s third major midfield signing of the summer, following Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos. His physicality, defensive ability and ball-carrying qualities could provide manager Michael Carrick with greater balance and depth in midfield.
United have reportedly secured Baleba for significantly less than Brighton’s previous £115 million valuation. The midfielder has made 112 appearances for Brighton since joining the club from Lille in 2023.
His arrival would increase competition alongside Tielemans, Santos, Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo, although United may still seek further defensive reinforcements.
For now, supporters await official confirmation.
Carlos Baleba is on the verge of becoming a Manchester United player.
