Fabrizio Romano shuts down Manchester United’s €55m Gavi transfer rumours

Manchester United supporters dreaming of seeing Barcelona midfielder Gavi at Old Trafford may have to forget about that possibility for now.
Recent reports claimed the Red Devils were considering a surprise move for the Spanish international, with some suggestions that United could prepare an offer worth around €55 million. However, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has firmly rejected those claims, stating that there are no negotiations and Gavi has no plans to leave Barcelona.
Romano described the reports as completely false and insisted that a transfer to Manchester United is currently “absolutely impossible.”
Gavi remains an important part of Barcelona’s plans and is highly valued by both the club’s hierarchy and his teammates. The Catalan giants consider the 22-year-old midfielder a key figure in their long-term project, with the possibility of further contract talks also being discussed.
While Manchester United are still looking to improve their midfield options under Michael Carrick, Gavi is reportedly not among their targets. The club have already made additions in the position and are continuing to explore alternative options before the transfer window closes.
Despite the excitement the rumour created online, there appears to be little truth behind it.
There are no talks, no offer and no negotiations. Gavi remains committed to Barcelona, with everything pointing towards the midfielder staying at Camp Nou.
