While the club had previously appeared calm about his situation, there is reportedly a renewed urgency to eliminate any uncertainty heading into the summer. Enrique himself is said to view staying in Paris as his top priority, with PSG keen to tie him down to fresh terms that would keep him at the Parc des Princes until 2030.
While Enrique represents the high-profile appointment many at Old Trafford would relish, Carrick’s impressive start as interim boss has added an intriguing twist to the narrative.
