The Portuguese manager has struggled to make an impact since taking over from Erik ten Hag last November, managing only eight wins in 31 league matches. This record has left him with the lowest win rate of any permanent United boss since the Second World War. While the club’s hierarchy has repeatedly claimed they still back him, the mood around Old Trafford suggests patience is running out quickly.
According to The Mirror, Amorim effectively has a three-game window to turn things around. Gareth Southgate, long admired by co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is once again being linked to the role.
