‘The Mistake Chelsea made was loaning him out and buying Nicholas Jackson a Flop and Nkunku an Injury prone now the can’t even find the Net

Given their own goalscoring woes, Chelsea star Joe Cole has questioned why his team allowed Romelu Lukaku to depart on loan this summer.

Mauricio Pochettino took over as Blues manager at the beginning of preseason, but he has had a lackluster debut. Chelsea is now 11th in the Premier League standings, and a worrying trend from the start of the season has been a dearth of goals.

With the exception of Manchester United, who have played one fewer game than them, the west Londoners have scored fewer goals in the league this season than any other team. Chelsea’s most recent game was a home match against Brentford, and optimism was high following a strong showing against Arsenal in a 2-2 tie the week before.

Despite this, Chelsea played a poor majority of the game and lost 2-0 as a result of goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Ethan Pinnock. Stamford Bridge was almost half empty by the time the Bees scored their second goal, which came from Blues ‘keeper Robert Sanchez coming up for an offensive corner.

Pochettino’s team found it difficult to convert their possession into clear-cut opportunities. It’s not like Chelsea is without possibilities; the team paid a hefty fee to get Nicolas Jackson, a striker, from Villarreal, and the Blues manager may decide to look into Armando Broja as well. Cole, though, believes they had a good replacement on file and voluntarily decided to let him go.

Only months into his second stint at Chelsea, Lukaku made sure of that with an explosive interview in which he declared his love for his former team, Inter Milan. Despite this setback, the Belgian knows where the aim is. Lukaku’s Ā£97 million move in 2021 has scarcely gone according to plan. Unfortunately, he was loaned to Roma for the whole season.

Under Jose Mourinho’s tutelage, the former Manchester United and Inter star has scored eight goals in ten games, but Cole obviously believes he could have done more for Chelsea. “You here all the buzzwords around the club but at the end of the day, we canā€™t score goals,” he stated to TNT Sport.

Romelu Lukaku was in the door despite all of his flaws. Why was he unable to score goals at Chelsea since he was a success at Inter Milan and had scored goals at Everton and West Brom in this country? What [about him] wasn’t right?

“He is now netting goals for Roma. We must thus examine ourselves to see what is currently wrong with this club. Although the team is out of balance, there is currently a serious issue with the organization.”

Prior to the January transfer window, rumors are starting to circulate, and Chelsea has been connected to moves for Victor Osimhen of Napoli and Ivan Toney. It’s unclear if Pochettino wants to invest even more money in a different offensive strategy.
