Manchester United is intensifying its efforts to strengthen their attacking lineup, with Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško emerging as prominent options under consideration. Technical director Jason Wilcox and recruitment chief Christopher Vivel have identified these players as potential reinforcements ahead of the summer transfer window.
Liam Delap, who has impressed during his debut season with Ipswich, has become a notable target for United. The 21-year-old forward has delivered standout performances, registering six goals in 12 Premier League appearances. His blend of strength, finishing, and ability to hold up play has drawn comparisons to Viktor Gyökeres. Delap’s form has not gone unnoticed, with Chelsea and Juventus also expressing interest. However, Manchester City’s buy-back clause could complicate any transfer plans for the Red Devils. Despite the competition, United remains confident about their chances of securing his signature, especially if Ipswich faces relegation. The club reportedly values Delap at around £40 million, more than double the fee Ipswich paid to sign him last year.
Meanwhile, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško has reappeared on United’s radar as a possible addition to the squad. The Slovenian striker’s playing style is considered a good fit for the physical demands of the Premier League. Although Šeško extended his contract with Leipzig last summer, speculation persists about a potential move in 2025. Arsenal is also in the mix for the forward, with reports indicating that he might prefer a move to North London. However, his future could hinge on Arsenal’s recruitment strategy for the upcoming transfer window.
Beyond Delap and Šeško, United has also been monitoring other strikers. Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, Wolves’ Matheus Cunha, and Lille’s Jonathan David are all on the club’s shortlist. To finance these moves, United might offload one of their key players. Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Kobbie Mainoo have all been linked with potential exits. Rashford, who earns £315,000 per week, has attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona, while Garnacho has caught the attention of Chelsea and Napoli. Chelsea is also reportedly interested in Mainoo.
