I think my time at the club is up now Newcastle and Bayern Munich wants to sign me it’s high time I left – Angry Manchester City FLOP wants to terminate his contract due to lack of playing time
Report: What Pep Guardiola has secretly informed Manchester City management about Kalvin Phillips. Amid interest from Newcastle United and West Ham United, it looks that Kalvin Phillips’s time at Manchester City is coming to an end.
Kalvin Phillips has struggled to make an impact at Manchester City since his arrival from Leeds United in the summer of 2022.
City boss Pep Guardiola indicated this week that if Phillips wants to go in the January transfer window, then he may go.
Pep Guardiola takes judgment on Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips
And now a report in The Daily Star has revealed what Guardiola has secretly told his City employers about the 27-year-old.
The Daily Star has stated that Newcastle United, West Ham United and Bayern Munich all want to capture Phillips from City in the January transfer window.
The source has alleged that Guardiola has “privately” told “City’s hierarchy to let” Phillips “depart in the New Year”.
City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season, are willing to let Phillips leave on loan in the January transfer window.
However, there are two criteria.
The team that gets Phillips will have to pay the England international midfielder’s £150,000-a-week wage in full.
They would also have to sign him on a permanent agreement in July.
Manchester City will not miss Kalvin Phillips
I do not think that Manchester City will miss Kalvin Phillips if he goes in Janaury, atlhough the club will undoubtedly think that the £42 million that they spent to Leeds United for the 27-year-old was a waste of money.
Even when Rodri was suspended before the international break, Phillips could not get into the team.
And let us not forget that Kevin De Bruyne has been on the sidelines as well for weeks.
City boss Pep Guardiola still did not alter his system to integrate Phillips into his plans.
It seems that Guardiola simply does not think that Phillips is good enough for his team.
