Unstoppable forwarder’: Out of love with Rashfold, Man Utd is eyeing move to sign with €35-40M SUPER star

Manchester United has emerged as one of the clubs keen on signing Borussia Dortmund’s dynamic forward Karim Adeyemi, a player whose remarkable pace reportedly surpasses that of Marcus Rashford. Adeyemi, known for his speed and technical prowess, has become a target for several Premier League sides, including Liverpool and Newcastle United.

The Red Devils returned to form with a commanding win over Southampton, easing some of the pressure on Erik ten Hag after a shaky start to the season. Despite the victory, United’s performance so far has been inconsistent, with just two wins in their first six Premier League matches. However, the club has continued to back Ten Hag, evident from their activity during the summer transfer window.

This summer, United added five new players to their squad but appears eager to continue strengthening. Among their reported targets is AS Monaco right-back Vanderson, valued between €35–40 million (£29–35 million). Vanderson, also tracked by Chelsea and Tottenham, is seen as a potential upgrade on Diogo Dalot. Similarly, Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Martin Baturina, who impressed on international duty, has caught United’s attention as a promising young talent.

The pursuit of Adeyemi further highlights United’s ambition to bolster their attack. The 22-year-old joined Dortmund from RB Salzburg in 2022 and has since showcased his exceptional talent in the Bundesliga. Last season, Adeyemi clocked an astonishing top speed of 36.30 km/h, surpassing Rashford’s 35.71 km/h. Described as “unstoppable” by football pundit Ben Mattinson, Adeyemi has started the 2024–25 campaign strongly, with two goals and an assist in just three Bundesliga matches.

Adeyemi’s current contract with Dortmund extends until 2027, making any potential transfer a costly affair. Dortmund’s history of commanding high fees for their stars, coupled with interest from other top clubs, suggests United would face stiff competition. Despite this, reports indicate that United views Adeyemi as a possible replacement for Antony, whose form has been underwhelming this season. The Brazilian winger has also been linked with a move to Fenerbahce.

If Adeyemi were to join United, his arrival could bring a new dimension to Ten Hag’s attacking setup. His pace and versatility would not only rival Rashford’s attributes but also enhance United’s overall offensive threat. Additionally, Adeyemi could serve as a long-term solution to United’s wide attacking options, marking a potential turning point for the team as they aim to solidify their squad for future success.
