Hansi Flick Requests Barcelona to Sign Marcus Rashford in Swap Deal After Missing Out on Nico Williams

Hansi Flick has reportedly urged Barcelona to target Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford after missing out on Athletic Club’s Nico Williams. Flick has been keen on adding a left winger who excels at both scoring and dribbling. His initial focus was on Williams, who had caught attention with standout performances during Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph. However, Athletic Club is not interested in letting go of their star player this summer.
With Williams likely to stay put, Barcelona has started weighing other options, including Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman and, unexpectedly, Marcus Rashford. GOL Sport journalist Albert Fernandez revealed that Flick specifically requested Rashford as a potential solution.
The 26-year-old Rashford had a disappointing season, tallying only eight goals and six assists in all competitions, which led to his exclusion from Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024. Although he has featured in Manchester United’s opening two games this season, his form has continued to be below par.
Barcelona has yet to make an official offer, and it’s uncertain whether they will act on Flick’s request before the transfer window closes. Meanwhile, Rashford is expected to appear in Manchester United’s upcoming Premier League fixture against Brighton.
