According to the Spanish magazine AS, both European giants recently sent scouts to observe Sevilla’s Juanlu Sánchez represent Spain at the Olympic Games in Paris, where he earned a gold medal.

Earlier in the summer, the Red Devils were in a fierce race with Real Madrid for the signature of highly regarded defender Leny Yoro. The young French talent had been a standout for LOSC Lille in Ligue 1, playing a key role in their defense. With just a year left on his contract, Lille opted to cash in, leading to heightened interest from top clubs across Europe. Ultimately, Yoro’s transfer was completed for a substantial fee of €62 million.

Although Yoro initially leaned toward a move to Madrid, Manchester United emerged victorious, securing the talented defender in a notable transfer deal.

Now, United faces renewed competition from Madrid. According to reports from Spanish publication AS, both clubs have recently dispatched scouts to monitor Sevilla’s Juanlu Sánchez, who made headlines at the Paris Olympic Games by winning a gold medal.

Sánchez, a right-back with 43 LaLiga appearances under his belt, has contributed two goals and three assists. Sevilla is keen to hold on to the 21-year-old, who is tied to the club until 2026. With a release clause of €20 million, Sevilla rejected a €10 million bid from Bournemouth earlier this summer.
