Andy Cole has expressed strong anger following Manchester United’s 2-2 draw with AFC Bournemouth, insisting the officiating decisions were unacceptable and damaging to the game.
The former United striker said he was “fuming” after reviewing key incidents, arguing that what fans witnessed was far from acceptable at top-level football. He believes the standard of VAR intervention continues to raise serious concerns about fairness and consistency.
Cole’s frustration comes after a controversial moment involving a challenge on Amad Diallo, which officials dismissed as insufficient for a foul, despite widespread debate among analysts and supporters.
In contrast, a similar incident at the opposite end of the pitch led to a penalty and a red card, intensifying accusations of inconsistency.
Former Michael Carrick also expressed dissatisfaction with the officiating, adding further weight to the criticism from the club’s former players.
