The 31-year-old footballer signed with Feyenoord this week after Chelsea terminated his contract during the January window. Despite being eager to return to competitive play after sitting out the entire season at Chelsea, Sterling must wait for administrative clearance before joining team activities or matches.

In a statement following his signing, Sterling explained that being without a club gave him unprecedented freedom to carefully evaluate his options. He emphasized that he wanted to find a team where he could make a meaningful contribution, and after extensive discussions with Feyenoord’s CEO Dennis te Kloese and manager Robin van Persie, he felt confident about the move.
