Manchester United had an equalizing goal disallowed during their Premier League away match against West Ham United, with Casemiro found to be in an offside position.
West Ham took the lead shortly after halftime through Tomas Soucek, following a largely uneventful first half. United appeared to draw level around 13 minutes later when Casemiro headed in a cross from Kobbie Mainoo, but celebrations were cut short when VAR reviewed the goal and overturned it, with replays confirming the Brazilian midfielder had been marginally offside when the ball was played in.
The Premier League’s official account on X confirmed that VAR had reviewed the referee’s original goal decision and determined that Casemiro was positioned offside, leading to the goal being ruled out.
United arrived at the London Stadium riding high on the back of four consecutive victories over Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham, and Tottenham, but faced a West Ham side that had also been in strong form under manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
