Earlier this month, L’Equipe reported that Enzo Fernandez has been contemplating his future at Stamford Bridge, with Paris Saint-Germain identifying him as a top transfer target. The French club is looking to bolster their midfield, viewing Vitinha as a cornerstone of that strategy.

The report also indicates that PSG aims to utilize the transfer market to increase competition throughout Luis Enrique’s squad. In France, concerns have emerged that insufficient reliable depth has made certain players too comfortable in their positions, complicating rotation and squad management decisions.

PSG hasn’t made any approach for Fernandez during the current January window, instead viewing the Chelsea midfielder as a future target.

Chelsea’s manager Liam Rosenior dismissed any immediate speculation regarding Fernandez’s departure.

“Since his transfer to Chelsea, he’s evolved into more of a complete midfielder, providing a genuine scoring threat from inside the penalty area—something PSG currently lacks.

“He also brings a competitive edge that surpasses any of PSG’s current central midfielders. While Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz, and João Neves all display tremendous determination, none possess the same fighting spirit as the Argentine. Though it may not be the most attractive quality in a player, it can prove decisive for a team in crucial moments.”
