“I never expected him to leave Manchester City so soon until he hold me himself that he will be joining Real Madrid by January”- Man City star Phil Foden has just revealed his “phenomenal” teammate will be joining Real Madrid this January transfer window

Real Madrid are preparing for what could be another significant summer transfer window in 2026 as they look to bounce back from a disappointing campaign. The club has already laid groundwork for Nico Paz’s return and is exploring options for a new defender and midfielder – but the most exciting possibility involves bringing in a world-class striker.
Erling Haaland has remained a long-standing target for the Spanish giants. They made their move when he was lighting up the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, but the Norwegian goal machine chose Manchester City instead, where he’s been absolutely unstoppable over the past couple of seasons.
Even after Haaland penned a new long-term deal with the Premier League champions last year, Real Madrid haven’t abandoned their dream of landing him. According to Sky Sport Germany, that dream could become reality sooner than many expect – potentially as early as this summer.
The German outlet claims that Real Madrid’s senior figures are in regular contact with Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimienta. The striker himself apparently sees the Bernabeu as the pinnacle destination of his career and would be open to making the move, despite his contract with City stretching all the way to 2034.
Deal depends entirely on Vinicius Junior’s future
However, there’s a crucial catch. Despite Real Madrid’s ongoing interest and their continuous talks with Pimienta, any deal would only be feasible under specific circumstances. The main one? Vinicius Junior would need to leave the club first.
That’s not as far-fetched as it might sound. The Brazilian winger has just 18 months left on his current contract, and there’s been no progress on an extension. He could well end up making his own Premier League switch over the next year or so, which would open the door for Real Madrid to pounce on Haaland.
If things unfold that way, Kylian Mbappe would slide over to the left wing, creating a mouthwatering strike partnership with Haaland that would have Madrid fans absolutely buzzing with anticipation.
