“When I called him a ‘Baby Coach,’ some fans thought I was against him. That’s not true — I want this club to succeed,” Rooney insisted. “But he refuses to adapt. Look at Grimsby, a game we should have won without trouble, yet his decisions keep putting United in unnecessary danger.”
Rooney’s main criticism lies in Amorim’s habit of pushing too many men forward and leaving the backline exposed. The Burnley clash highlighted that flaw once more. United looked comfortable, only to collapse under pressure and nearly throw the match away. Rooney warned that stronger opponents would punish such lapses far more severely, potentially derailing United’s season.
“This isn’t Sporting Lisbon — this is Manchester United,” Rooney blasted. “You don’t get endless chances here. If Amorim doesn’t wake up quickly, the same fans defending him today will be the ones demanding his sacking tomorrow.”
