Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag, finally has a full pre-season and transfer window to mold the squad in his vision. With Matheus Cunha already arriving from Wolves and a deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo nearing completion, United remain keen on adding another striker to their ranks.
According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Jackson is among the names on United’s shortlist. The Senegalese forward, who joined Chelsea in 2023, has shown promise but struggled with consistency. While he has been a regular starter since arriving at Stamford Bridge, his place in the squad could be under threat following Chelsea’s recent signings of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. With manager Enzo Maresca known to favor a single-striker system, Jackson’s long-term role remains uncertain.
Plettenberg suggests that Chelsea could let Jackson leave if a suitable offer is made. Although he reportedly earns £100,000 per week and has top-flight experience, Chelsea are not actively pushing him out. However, they’re open to listening if Manchester United come forward with a serious bid.
United’s current options up front include Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, both of whom have had a hard time finding consistent form. Marcus Rashford is reportedly on his way to Barcelona, which could open the door for a new striker to come in. Jackson, with his pace, strength, and Premier League experience, could fit well into Amorim’s high-intensity attacking system.
Reports indicate that Manchester United have begun informal talks with Jackson’s representative, though no official bid has been submitted yet. Chelsea are said to value Jackson around £100 million, but they might consider letting him go for a fee in the £60–70 million range. Other clubs such as Aston Villa and AC Milan are also keeping tabs on the player.
While there’s no guarantee a deal will materialize, Jackson is definitely under serious consideration by Manchester United. Should the club decide to move forward, it could add a fresh spark to their attack—especially if their current forwards continue to struggle.
