Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo by submitting a new offer worth over £60 million for the Brentford star, according to journalist Duncan Castles. The fresh bid follows an earlier £55 million proposal that was turned down by the Bees, as United aim to reinforce their attacking options under Ruben Amorim’s leadership.
Having already brought in Matheus Cunha as their first signing of the summer, United remain determined to land Mbeumo despite mounting interest from other Premier League clubs. Tottenham, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa are all said to be monitoring the 25-year-old, who is coming off a sensational season in the top flight.
Castles, speaking on the Transfers Podcast, noted that Mbeumo had a standout campaign, netting 20 goals and registering eight assists in 38 league appearances—exceeding his expected goals tally by a significant margin. The Red Devils’ latest offer, valued at over £60 million, is intended not only to secure the player swiftly but also to stay ahead of their Premier League rivals who are circling.
Although Mbeumo has just one year left on his current contract, Brentford have the option to extend it by an additional year, keeping him at the club until 2027. Nonetheless, a summer departure now looks likely.
In a bid to make room for new arrivals, United are open to letting go of several forwards, including Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, and Jadon Sancho. Of those, Sancho is considered a priority to sell permanently, especially after Chelsea decided not to take up the option to sign him.
As United push forward with their summer rebuild, Mbeumo is seen as a key piece in Amorim’s vision to rejuvenate the squad and return the club to its former glory.
