Manchester United finally sign 20-year-old superstar from PSG as the star is currently undergoing medical to join the Reds.

Manchester United are reportedly in discussions to pull off a surprise move for AC Milan star Rafael Leão, according to Spanish publication Fichajes. With their goal-scoring struggles still fresh from last season, the Red Devils are pushing to rebuild their attack this summer. After sealing a deal for Matheus Cunha from Wolves for around £62.5 million, they’ve turned their attention to Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who is valued at a similar price by his club.
Now, the club appears to be casting its net wider, with Leão emerging as a top target. Reports suggest that United could lose several attacking players this summer, including Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Alejandro Garnacho, prompting them to explore other wide-forward options. Leão, who has been a key figure for AC Milan, is now on United’s radar as a possible solution.
However, the Red Devils are not alone in the chase. Bayern Munich are also interested in the Portuguese winger, especially with Leroy Sané’s future at the German club uncertain. AC Milan are aware that several clubs are circling, and although Leão still has three years left on his contract, the Italian side has set his valuation at around £84 million. That said, the player’s desire to leave following a difficult season could force Milan to settle for a reduced fee, potentially in the region of £59 million.
Despite a dip in form, Leão still managed to notch 12 goals and 11 assists across 50 appearances last season. His influence has been vital for Milan, helping them secure the Serie A title in the 2021/22 season and lifting the Supercoppa Italiana more recently. His versatility and attacking flair make him a tempting addition for any top European club.
Still, some might argue that if United successfully bring in Mbeumo, another wide attacker may not be necessary. Instead, that money could be better spent addressing other key areas, such as a central striker or midfield reinforcement. With Rúben Amorim leading the project at Old Trafford, the club’s recruitment strategy will soon reveal whether they plan to go all-in for Leão or focus on strengthening elsewhere.
