Manchester United finally reached full agreement to sign an aggressive goalscoring machine- Set to pen six-years deal.
Manchester United are reportedly stepping up their efforts to sign Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi, with the club determined to outmaneuver other European heavyweights for his signature, according to Spanish source Fichajes.
After a disappointing season, the Red Devils are undergoing a summer rebuild, aiming to give new manager Ruben Amorim the tools needed for a competitive comeback. The focus has largely been on strengthening the attack—already securing Matheus Cunha and holding discussions with Brentford over a deal for Bryan Mbeumo. In addition to those moves, United are now actively pursuing a new striker, with Hugo Ekitike emerging as a potential target after Viktor Gyokeres expressed a preference to join Arsenal.
Attention has now turned to midfield, with Frattesi seen as a top candidate to reinforce the squad. United have reportedly made early moves in hopes of convincing the Italian to make the switch, and the player himself is understood to be open to leaving Inter after a frustrating season where he struggled for consistent game time.
Despite a managerial change at Inter that could offer him a fresh start, Frattesi is reportedly eager to join a club with a clearer path to regular first-team action. While Inter are reluctant to sell, they’ve placed a valuation of over £30 million on the 25-year-old, whose contract runs until 2028. Manchester United aren’t the only ones interested—Atletico Madrid and Napoli have also shown serious intent, with Atletico seen as the primary competition.
Frattesi, known for his ability to operate effectively in a box-to-box role, made just 13 starts across Serie A and the Champions League last season. Still, he managed to score seven goals and provide one assist, showing flashes of his quality despite limited minutes.
Currently, United have several midfield options, including Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo, and new signing Manuel Ugarte. With Christian Eriksen no longer at the club, there’s room for additional depth and energy in the middle of the park. Casemiro’s form has been inconsistent, and Mainoo is yet to fully earn Amorim’s trust, making Frattesi a logical addition.
If the Red Devils are successful in landing the Italian international, he could prove to be a key part of Amorim’s plans—adding drive, versatility, and goal threat to the heart of the midfield.
