That alternative could be Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, who is now emerging as a top target. The Cameroonian forward, who has spent six productive years in West London, looks increasingly likely to move on this summer. With a valuation between £50–60 million, Brentford stand to make a massive profit on the player they bought from Troyes for £5.8 million back in 2019. Mbeumo recently hit a personal milestone, surpassing the 20-goal mark in a single Premier League campaign for the first time, and recorded 11 more goals than he managed the season before.
United’s interest in Mbeumo appears to be growing, especially now that Delap seems out of reach. Though he isn’t a traditional No. 9 like Delap, Mbeumo offers greater flexibility and immediate impact. His ability to play anywhere across the front line, combined with his high work rate and pressing game, makes him an ideal fit for Erik ten Hag’s tactical approach. In light of possible departures of players like Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood, or Antony, Mbeumo could represent a more stable and proven alternative in the attacking department.
