Previously overlooked Manchester United player returns to training, with a summer departure looking inevitable
A Manchester United player has rejoined first-team training at Carrington, sparking speculation about a possible transfer during the upcoming summer window. As preparations continue for their Premier League clash with Bournemouth this weekend, manager Ruben Amorim is strategically managing player workloads. While domestic duties are ongoing, the Europa League remains the priority, with only two games standing between United and a potential final in Bilbao.
Amorim has slightly reduced the intensity of training for several players, possibly in anticipation of transfer movements in the summer. Midfielder Dan Gore, who was among those training on Wednesday, has returned after recovering from a foot injury that cut short his loan spell at Rotherham United. He has made just two senior appearances for United so far.
Gore was seen training with first-team regulars like Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount, and Bruno Fernandes. Although players such as Amad and Lisandro Martinez are still sidelined, there’s optimism that Amad might return before the season concludes. Gore, once hailed as the Under-21 Player of the Year in 2023, has watched others such as Kobbie Mainoo and Toby Collyer move ahead of him in the pecking order.
With his contract running until June 2026, United are believed to be open to the idea of either loaning or selling Gore in the next transfer window. Meanwhile, the team is gearing up for their upcoming away match against Bournemouth on Sunday as they continue their league campaign.
