Victor Gyokeres has reportedly been spotted at Manchester United’s training ground in Carrington as part of a move that could see him join the club this summer. The powerful forward, currently starring for Sporting Lisbon, is said to have reached a verbal agreement with the Red Devils, with even his future squad number allegedly decided. However, there is still no confirmation from top-tier sources such as Fabrizio Romano, BBC Sport, or Sky Sports.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Manchester United opted not to bring in a new forward during the winter transfer window because the groundwork for Gyokeres’s summer switch was already in motion. The Swedish striker has been in phenomenal form this season, scoring 34 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions. Since arriving from Coventry City in 2023, he has flourished in Portugal, quickly becoming a key player under then-manager Ruben Amorim.

Despite Amorim’s reported exit from Sporting, Gyokeres remains a standout performer for the club. His current deal with the Lisbon side runs until 2028, with a release clause set at €100 million. However, there are indications that Sporting might be open to negotiating a transfer fee closer to €70 million, possibly to facilitate a smoother transition.

Manchester United see the 26-year-old as a cornerstone for their future rebuild, especially given his proven chemistry with Amorim.
