BREAKING NEWS: Manchester United Prioritizes Victor Osimhen Over Viktor Gyökeres in Striker Acquisition.

Manchester United has reportedly secured an agreement on personal terms with Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, marking a crucial step ahead of the summer transfer window. Manager Rúben Amorim has played a key role in the decision to prioritize Osimhen over other attacking targets, including Viktor Gyökeres. Despite previously managing Gyökeres at Sporting CP and recognizing his strong performances, Amorim is aware that Sporting’s valuation could pose a major obstacle. Journalist Gerardo Fasano reported that Amorim is now shifting focus to Osimhen, exploring the feasibility of securing the prolific striker.

Osimhen has built a reputation as a consistent goal-scorer, showcasing his talents at Napoli before excelling on loan at Galatasaray, where he netted eight goals in just nine appearances. Former United striker Louis Saha has highlighted Osimhen’s reliability, pointing out that he has maintained his scoring streak for years and continues to find the back of the net with ease. This level of consistency is precisely what United needs, especially given the struggles of their current forwards, Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee, who have each managed just one league goal this season. Saha believes Osimhen’s confidence and strong mentality could be a game-changer for the club, comparing his presence to that of Erling Haaland in terms of impact and self-belief.

Manchester United and Napoli are locked in negotiations over a potential swap deal, which would see Zirkzee move to the Serie A side alongside a £25 million fee in exchange for Osimhen. However, Napoli values their striker at £62 million and is demanding an annual salary of £10 million for the player. The financial aspects of the deal remain a key factor, but United’s pursuit signals their determination to reinforce their attacking options. With the summer transfer window drawing closer, all eyes are on whether the club can finalize the move and add a proven goal-scorer to their ranks.
