Ruben Amorim is reportedly preparing for a significant change in Manchester United’s goalkeeping department as speculation continues over André Onana’s future. Since his arrival at Old Trafford in 2023 for £43.8 million, the Cameroonian goalkeeper has delivered a mixed bag of performances. While his shot-stopping abilities have been praised—most notably his stunning double save against Southampton—his inconsistency has raised doubts about his long-term role at the club.
With clubs from the Saudi Pro League showing interest in securing the 28-year-old’s signature, United are already assessing potential replacements. Amorim has reportedly shortlisted two promising young goalkeepers as possible successors. Among them is 22-year-old Senne Lammens, who currently plays for Royal Antwerp and has earned recognition for his exceptional distribution. The Belgian talent is estimated to be worth around £30 million. Also on United’s radar is Lucas Chevalier, a 23-year-old shot-stopper from Lille, whose consistent performances have made him a strong contender. With a contract running until 2027, Chevalier’s transfer fee is expected to be in the region of £40 million.
