Man City star compared to Paul Gascoigne following masterclass in victory against Villa. Manchester City returned to winning ways in the Premier League tonight, defeating Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium, with Phil Foden scoring a magnificent hat trick.

Foden’s performance tonight was impressive, and Ally McCoist compared him to an England legend. Foden had a poor performance against Arsenal on Sunday and will be eager to make amends tonight.

And he definitely delivered, with the £225,000-per-week guy, along with Rodri, playing a key role in tonight’s victory.

Foden was at his elusive best, playing in the centre with Kevin De Bruyne rested and Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish on the wings. Foden was dazzling between the lines and, as always, worked tirelessly for his team. He surely strengthened his cause for PFA Player of the Season, and midway through the second half, McCoist praised him highly.
