Kobbie Mainoo ‘demands huge pay increase’ to reject Chelsea transfer and sign new Man Utd contract

Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail has reported that Chelsea is keeping a close watch on the situation and could make a move if Mainoo declines United’s terms. At 19 years old, the midfielder is reportedly uncertain about the club’s direction, even after Ruben Amorim’s appointment as manager and highlights like the recent 2-2 draw against Liverpool. While fans may hope Mainoo remains at Old Trafford, The Athletic’s David Ornstein noted that only Leny Yoro and Amad Diallo are currently considered untouchable in transfer discussions.
Concerns about Mainoo’s contract have also been raised, with reports suggesting he, like Alejandro Garnacho, whose deal runs until 2028, may not be entirely safe from being sold.
