Manchester United fans scolded the same player on social media after they were trounced 3-0 at home by Bournemouth for the second season running.

Under new management with Ruben Amorim replacing Erik ten Hag, Manchester United once again fell victim to Andoni Iraola’s tactical mastery. Bournemouth secured a convincing victory with goals from Dean Huijsen, Justin Kluivert, and Antoine Semenyo.

Following their dramatic last-minute win over Manchester City, United were quickly brought back to reality. A 4-3 Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat to Tottenham highlighted their vulnerabilities, and this latest loss further exposed the challenges ahead for the team.

At Old Trafford, several players delivered underwhelming performances, but Joshua Zirkzee was notably singled out by fans online. The summer signing came under fire for failing to prevent Huijsen’s free header for the opening goal and contributed little during his 54 minutes on the pitch before being substituted for Rasmus Hojlund.

Supporters expressed frustration over the club’s decision to spend £36 million on Zirkzee, with criticism flooding social media. One fan vented their anger, labeling him “the worst ever” and listing perceived shortcomings, from poor movement to an inability to win aerial duels despite his towering height. Others compared him unfavorably to an out-of-form Anthony Martial, with some questioning his overall suitability as a footballer.

Since joining United from Bologna on a five-year deal, Zirkzee has managed just four goals in 24 appearances across all competitions. His struggles to adapt to English football have already sparked speculation about a potential return to Italy.
