Marcus Rashford’s surprising exclusion from Manchester United’s squad during their derby victory over Manchester City has intensified speculation surrounding his future at the club. While manager Ruben Amorim has reiterated that Rashford remains a key part of his plans, rumors of a potential departure as early as 2025 continue to circulate.

According to ESPN, Borussia Dortmund has emerged as a potential destination for Rashford, with reports suggesting a loan deal similar to the one that saw Jadon Sancho return to the German side last season. Sancho, who had been frozen out by Erik ten Hag after a public dispute, rediscovered his form at Dortmund, playing a pivotal role in their run to the Champions League final. Although his success in Germany did not revive his Manchester United career, it ultimately paved the way for a move to Chelsea, a path Rashford could potentially follow.

Rashford’s recent struggles with form over the past 18 months have sparked discussions about whether a stint at Dortmund could provide him with the same revitalization that Sancho experienced. Sancho himself described his loan spell at Dortmund as a homecoming, citing the club’s warmth and support as key factors in his resurgence.
