Live from Old Trafford, “If Rashford can’t get his act together and become the player everyone expects under a composed manager like Amorim, then let’s be real—his career is done! He’s heading straight down the Jesse Lingard path—27 years old and still struggling. It’s unacceptable! If he doesn’t deliver now, the club must start looking for his replacement. Enough chances—this is his final warning

Troy Deeney has expressed concern over the trajectory of Marcus Rashford’s career amid reports suggesting that Manchester United may be willing to part ways with the forward. At 27 years old, Rashford’s inconsistent performances this season have drawn criticism, as he has managed just seven goals and three assists in 23 matches across all competitions.

Speculation indicates that United are prepared to entertain offers in the region of £40 million for Rashford, who earns a substantial weekly wage of £325,000. Such a move is being seen by many as a missed opportunity for Rashford to achieve his full potential at Old Trafford.

Sharing his thoughts on the matter during a talkSPORT appearance, former Watford captain Deeney pointed to Rashford’s age and questioned his ability to meet expectations. “By 27, you should be at the peak of your abilities. Financially, everything is secure, so the real question is: Who are you as an individual? What do you truly represent?” he said.

Deeney also drew parallels between Rashford’s current struggles and the career of Jesse Lingard. “It’s disappointing because Rashford had the potential to become a world-class player, a beacon for the club, and a true legend. Instead, it seems he risks diminishing that legacy, much like Jesse Lingard,” he commented.

Lingard, now 31, departed Manchester United in 2022 after a career marked by both promising moments and off-field distractions. He made 232 appearances for the club, scoring 35 goals, including a decisive winner in the 2016 FA Cup final.

Rashford’s professionalism and personal life have often been the subject of debate, with many once viewing him as a potential heir to club legends like Wayne Rooney. Now, questions linger over whether he can fulfill those lofty expectations.
