Pundit claims Ruben Amorim is ready to make tough calls on underperforming players at United. According to the pundit, the incoming manager isn’t wasting time in identifying who needs to step up, and who may be shown the door.
Pat Nevin has cautioned that Ruben Amorim is unlikely to be deceived by Manchester United’s recent uptick in form, noting that the club still has significant issues to address to stabilize their performances.
On Sunday, United secured a 3-0 victory over Everton, going into halftime with a 2-0 advantage after goals from Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee. Rashford added a third early in the second half, solidifying their dominance.
However, United’s commanding position came only after enduring a shaky opening half-hour, during which Everton applied considerable pressure. The Toffees created several opportunities, with Beto and Jesper Lindstrom missing crucial chances that could have changed the game’s momentum.
Nevin pointed out that despite the win, Amorim will likely remain wary of United’s overall performance.
“It was very subdued here until the first goal,” Nevin remarked on BBC Radio 5 Live. “Before that, Everton seemed to have the edge. United’s confidence only grew after their opening goal, which seemed to deflate Everton. But Amorim won’t overlook United’s vulnerabilities. Up until that moment, they weren’t at their best.”
