Goodnews for Manchester City Fans as Pep Guardiola has announced the returning date of the Ballon D’Or winner Rodri to Etihad
Rodri got the famous Ballon d’Or trophy from George Weah, who won the award in 1995 and used to play striker for City. The ceremony took place at the prestigious Theatre du Chatelet in Paris. Rodri’s win of the Ballon d’Or shows how dominant he was last season. The player beat out top contenders like Vinicius Jr. of Real Madrid, Jude Bellingham, and Dani Carvajal of Barcelona to win the award.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Rodri will be given his Ballon d’Or prize again on the field before this Saturday’s game against Tottenham, giving fans a chance to celebrate his amazing achievement. To mark the occasion, the club is giving away free Rodri shirts at the Etihad Stadium and the Arndale CityStores before the game on Saturday and all day Sunday.
DID YOU KNOW?
Rodri has been healing in Spain since surgery to fix an ACL injury he got in a 2-2 draw with Arsenal in September. This will be his first visit back to the Etihad since then. His absence has come at a bad time for Guardiola’s team, who have recently lost four games in a row, which has never happened before. It was a rough week for the defending champs. They lost to Bournemouth and Brighton in the Premier League, and they also lost to Sporting CP in the champs League.
