Jose Mourinho unleashed a hilarious diatribe against the referee who sent him off during Fenerbahce’s draw with Manchester United.
Referee Clement Turpin sent Mourinho a red card after the hosts had a penalty claim ruled down.
The Fenerbahce manager led the Turkish club’s protests against the decision, which came with the game at 1-1.
When asked about the incident after the match, the 61-year-old told TNT Sports, “I do not want to talk about it.”
He told me something wonderful. He informed me that he could see both the activity in the box and my actions on the touchline.
‘I congratulate him because he is simply fantastic. During the game, at 100 mph, he kept one eye on the penalty issue and one on the bench and my behavior.
‘That is the excuse he has given me. That is why he is considered one of the world’s top referees.
When asked whether he had an opportunity to review the situation and if he still believed it was a penalty, Mourinho replied: “I saw the incident.” I do not discuss the situation’.
Former United midfielder Paul Scholes responded to the interview, saying: “That was better than the game.”
‘He is got his mischievous side back. It was better to watch that version of Jose than the one we saw at Manchester United a few years ago, which was not terrific.
Several Fenerbahce replacements joined Mourinho in requesting a penalty.
