“I believe that it is only you that can save Manchester United from getting relegated this season. Please accept the job and save from being relegated” – Casemiro has already sent a message to Manchester United regarding Zinedine Zidane amid recent links between the French manager and the club.
Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane continues to be linked with the surprising possibility of becoming Manchester United’s next manager.
Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has lauded Zidane’s standout quality as a coach, pointing to his exceptional ability to build strong relationships with players in the locker room.
The French coach, who has been without a team since departing Real Madrid in 2021, has recently been rumored as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
Although Ten Hag remains at the helm for now, set to lead United against Brentford this weekend, he faces mounting pressure due to the club’s recent poor run of form. United are currently on a five-game winless streak, including three Premier League matches without a goal.
With Thomas Tuchel now appointed as England’s head coach, the pool of top-level managers available is shrinking, making Zidane’s name resurface. Zidane, who has only managed Real Madrid, has been previously linked to the Manchester United role multiple times.
Back in 2018, Zidane’s agent, Alain Migliaccio, downplayed the likelihood of Zidane moving to England, citing his client’s lack of interest in managing there.
Nevertheless, speculation about Zidane potentially taking over at Old Trafford remains strong. If that were to happen, Casemiro—who played 205 times under Zidane at Real Madrid, netting 26 goals and providing 19 assists—has already spoken about Zidane’s unique coaching approach.
In a 2017 interview, Casemiro praised Zidane’s ability to understand each player as an individual, acknowledging that their emotions and needs vary. According to him, this is what allows Zidane to form a deep connection with his squad.
